Karin Baumeister-Rehm grew up with her parents and three younger brothers in Bavaria, Germany. After many years of schooling and extension education, she worked for more than ten years in Economy and Finance. She was a personal assistant for an umbrella finance organization. She married her husband Norbert in 2000, and by 2001 they were on their way to Yokohama, Japan. While in Japan, she became a German instructor at Berlitz for two years. During their stay in Japan, their two sons, Jannik and Tim were born. In 2003, Norbert‘s employer relocated them to Apex, North Carolina. Karin has always loved to paint and decorate. She enjoys working with different materials and colors. She has taken many art classes since high school, including watercolor, pencil, calligraphy, acrylics, glazing, ceramic painting and more. Since she has settled down in Apex, she has started her own business, New Art Expression. This offers her the ability to do what she loves most and share it with you. It also allows her to be at home with her two sons and take care of their home. Karin focuses her work on contemporary abstracts images with expressive strokes.
